Becoming a library member

Membership of the library service is free to all residents of East Lothian. You can join at any branch of the library by presenting proof of your identity and current address. There is no minimum age for joining, but those under the age of 16 years require a signature from their parent or guardian.

Registering for an online membership

You may join the library online by clicking on the button below after you have read and accepted the membership conditions. This will allow you access to our online resources only. To convert to a full library membership which also allows you to borrow physical items from our branches, please see the information above.

Conditions of online membership

• Your online membership allows you access to all of our eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines, eNewspapers, eComics, and other eResources.
• If you change your address or name, please notify us immediately.
• Membership details are confidential and will not be disclosed to other parties.
