North Berwick's golfing heritage [DVD]

Books, Manuscripts
This video is a record of the work done by a group of four people, Douglas Seaton, John Fergie, Alistair and Irene Stewart, who have collected the names of over 120 North Berwick golfers. During a 30 year period (1894-1924), these men went abroad to the US, Australia and S. Africa contributing in a significant way to the history of golf in these countries. In April 2010, the group arranged for the erecting of 45 green plaques on the houses in North Berwick where these golfers were born, lived and worked. In addition, they organised the erecting of a bronze plaque on the wall of the professional's shop on the west course, commemorating the clubmakers who worked there for over 100 years. This bronze plaque was unveiled by Catriona Matthews, the 2009 British Ladies Open Champion, on 7th May 2010.
