It is simply the story of a dinner, and of some friends; a story of those almost like the fairy tales that they told us as children, already heard so many times but that we loved to tell us again and again, for the sole pleasure of being there to listen .And so, accompanied by his voice, we follow the friends protagonists on a winter night, while the snow falls, until the first of the inns where they will spend a night of good food and a lot of wine, laughter and a little love; one of those nights when friendship and satiety help not to listen to the omens of life that runs. This first dinner takes place before the last war in the Apennines between Bologna and Pistoia, the next tells us about the same world forty years later, the last – which is not really a dinner, but a midsummer lunch that lasts until a large night bonfire – takes place on the day of an eclipse of the sun.From the poor thirties to the disillusioned end of the twentieth century, passing from the hopes of the seventies, in the three companies of friends who alternate, in their jokes, in their hangovers, in the foods they choose to eat we find the flavor of our past and reread ourselves with fun and melancholy. Francesco Guccini weaves together three stories that become one and gives life to new, memorable, bizarre heroes of his epic of lost time.
