The story begins with a series of strange events, leading to the discovery of a sunken boat. It lies covered by mud, at the bottom of the River Ouse in Yorkshire. As divers explore the wreck it becomes apparent that this is a particularly unusual find. If it turns out to be what they think it is, it will be a unique treasure and very exciting.¶The task of uncovering the remains is not easy, but bringing them to the surface is likely to prove near impossible. Will they be able to achieve their goal? The author is an experienced diver so the underwater sequences have all the authenticity of an expert at work.
