'The Million Dollar Quartet' is the name given to recordings made on Tuesday the 4th of December 1956 in the Sun Recordings Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. The recordings were part of an impromptu jam session between Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash, four men who would go on to shape American music for the rest of the 20th century. This book looks at the events of the sessions and its relevance to subsequent popular music.
