'The Yellow Wallpaper' is considered an important early work in feminist literature and one which explored issues about women's health, both physical and mental. 'Herland' is a utopian novel which describes an isolated society composed entirely of women, who reproduce via parthenogenesis (asexual reproduction). The result is an ideal social order: free of war, conflict, and domination.
