Winona Ryder, Claire Danes, Kirsten Dunst and Trini Alvarado star in this 1990s update of the classic Civil War tale which follows the lives of sisters Meg (Alvarado), Jo (Ryder), Beth (Danes) and Amy (Dunst) who are left at home with their mother during the war. Hardships abound but the girls always retain hope and strong family loyalty as each grows in her own way into a woman. The cast also includes Susan Sarandon, Christian Bale and Gabriel Byrne.
